Module 1 - Introducing Managing Safely
Sets the scene by explaining why managing health and safety is an essential part of a manager’s role — for legal, moral, and business reasons.
Module 2 - Assessing Risks
Introduces the concepts of hazard and risk, and explains how to carry out a basic risk assessment using a straightforward process.
Module 3 - Controlling Risks
Builds on the risk assessment module by exploring practical ways to reduce risks and introduces the ‘hierarchy of control’.
Module 4 - Understanding Responsibilities
Explains health and safety responsibilities under UK law — for employers, managers, and individual employees — and what’s required to stay compliant.
Module 5 - Understanding Hazards
​Covers common workplace hazards across a range of environments, such as fire, electricity, chemicals, noise, and manual handling.
Module 6 - Investigating Incidents
Outlines how to respond when something goes wrong, including the steps of incident investigation and how to learn from what happened.
Module 7 - Measuring Performance
